Kidney Ferm, New Zealand

Arising out of a mossy undergrowth this Kidney Fern (Hymenophyllum nephrophyllum) caught my eye for a number of reasons - the brilliant green obviously, but also the fact that each frond appears on its own - a singularity. The grace and elegance of the shape also made me want to capture its image. What a beautiful detail of the natural world found only in New Zealand.
